Housing Mission Statement

It is the mission of Turning point Behavioral Health Services to support families by providing support and services so that they may be able to lead a normal and productive life as they pursue greater independence, reunification, or placement stability; and to promote quality recovery housing through exceptional quality care standards in an effort to help individuals with long-term and short-term recovery from alcohol and other drug use addictions. Turning Point Housing is a safe and healthy living environment that promotes abstinence from alcohol and other mind-altering substances. The purpose of Turning Point Housing is to provide an environment to initiate and sustain recovery. Turning Point Housing aims to improve one’s physical, mental, and social well-being. Our principles and practices are based on the core values of hope, compassion, respect, honesty, responsibility, and fairness during the journey to long lasting recovery.

Requirements for Housing

Applicants will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Must have a minimum of 7 days of constant sobriety. Applicants with 7-27 days of sobriety will be accepted provided they have completed a clinical program and have a written plan in place that provided for additional support. Applicants with 28 or more days on continuous sobriety can move into the house with a written plan. Must submit to random drug screens.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Am I allowed to smoke?
    YES. But only in designated smoking areas outside of the house. Absolutely no smoking in the house. Zero tolerance. Being caught smoking indoors will result in lease termination.
  2. Is there a curfew?
    YES. Curfew is from 11pm to 6am.
  3. Are pets allowed?
    NO. unfortunately due to insurance reasons we are restricted from allowing pets on the premises.
  4. Can I use Medical Cannabis in House?
    NO. Being it’s a sober living house the use of marijuana may be detrimental to the sobriety of others.
  5. Am I allowed to have my Prescription Medicine in the house?
    YES. You are in control of your prescription medication. And there will be a place for it to be locked away from others.
  6. Who is responsible for cleaning and upkeep of the house and living areas?
    YOU. There is no cleaning crew, no janitor, no housekeeper. Part of early sobriety is getting back into the habit of being responsible for your surroundings. There will be a weekly chores sheet posted.
  7. Am I allowed visitors in the house?
    Yes, on Sundays from 2pm-5pm, but no children.
