Summer is almost here, which means warm weather and good times! This is the time where monitoring your mental illness is most important. When the sun comes out, those of us with seasonal depression start to feel better, which is good, but the dangerous part is that is when people start to feel like they don’t need therapy or any help that they were getting. This is why having a routine is very important. You should have a routine that starts from the moment that you wake up. The routine can look like taking your medication, brushing your teeth, washing your face, and making up your bed every morning. Your routine should include things that you are actually willing to do everyday. Routines are important and critical for people with mental health issues because without a routine, they can fall into a state of depression. A routine holds you accountable for the daily responsibilities that must be completed. It is possible to enjoy the summer without completely abandoning the help that you need.
